Producing clean energy with wind power

That is the concern of one of the leading manufacturers of wind turbines in the world, the Sinovel group based in Beijing. Their wind turbines, which are to be found all over the world, are located on land and on the high seas. So-called offshore sites present a problem for the cooling of the generators, which is solved by using Hoval plate heat exchangers.

For corrosion reasons the high salt content of marine air does not allow direct cooling of the generators of these gigantic wind turbines. The pod with the cooling system consisting of the two integrated plate heat exchangers manages to dissipate back into the environment the hot air that has been created on the inside.

This type of cooling by means of Hoval plate heat exchangers has proven to be ideal in general for wind turbines that operate in corrosive, salty or sandy atmospheres.
